Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) Development Assessment Register (DAR)
theaim
The SCA required a system to manage the assessment of development applications within the Sydney water catchment and automate numerous development assessment and catchment information functions. Spatial Intelligence was commissioned to develop a spatially enabled application to meet these requirements.
thesolution
A GIS enabled development assessment register was developed based on the following components:
  • Microsoft Windows
  • SQL Server
  • Microsoft Office
  • ESRI ArcSDE
  • ESRI MapObjects
  • Citrix

This system allows the SCA to track all the relevant information and documents about development applications. The DAR:

  • Is spatially enabled which greatly enhances visualisation of data
  • Includes workflow, alerts and KPI functionality
  • Was awarded a 'Commended for Excellence in Planning' by the Planning Institute Australia in 2003
